Responsibilities:
·Work with the management team within the Investment Products Division to formulate and balance our long-term strategic objectives with short-term tactical plans.
·Direct the application of sophisticated models to quantify profit measures for new business and inforce blocks of contracts.
·Set credited rates and coordinate rate setting strategies and activities for fixed annuities and for the fixed account of variable annuities.
·Perform experience studies to monitor key drivers of profitability.
·Participate in the implementation of new products and initiatives, working closely with a variety of constituents.
·Coach and mentor the career development of 2-3 individuals that are part of the product management team.
·Manage daily business activities that satisfy product and profitability objectives while recognizing the needs of all constituents, including sales, service, financial and legal.
·Support ad hoc requests, state and SEC filing efforts, and IT calculation testing.
Qualifications
·Fellow of the Society of Actuaries with strong technical, analytical and pricing skills.
·Strong understanding of annuity industry with prior experience in annuity product development and pricing.
·Knowledge of financial modeling software applications such as MoSes.
