Responsibilities:
·Develops assumptions used in product development, prices products consistently with company profitability objectives, prepares regulatory filing information and assists in implementation. ·Analyzes and assesses new products for risk factors, including communicating concerns and recommending alternatives to senior actuarial staff. ·Researches published statistical data, other industry data, analyzing company experience to ensure assumptions are actuarially sound. ·Assists in actuarial support of business units, including establishing working relationships with lower level Business Unit personnel. ·Gathers information to allow for understanding of current and budgeted gains/shortfalls in marketing spending. ·Assists senior actuarial staff in development of new business arrangements, compensation arrangements and reinsurance arrangements. ·Runs programs and assimilates data for preparation of experience studies, including mortality, morbidity, persistency and expense studies. ·Runs programs and accumulates results to develop new business value added reports, measuring and communicating the company's return on the investment in new business. ·May manage one or more employees, responsible for sharing information and training less senior actuarial staff on various programs and tools. ·Assists senior actuarial staff in preparing responses to regulatory and compliance issues. ·Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications ·Bachelor's degree; degree in Mathematics, Science, Finance or related field. ·5 years product development experience ·4-5 actuarial exams preferred ·Effective written and verbal communication skills ·Ability to work independently and produce accurate results ·Leadership and presentation skills ·Thorough knowledge of forecasting techniques ·International product development experience a plus
