However, I have got nothing except a telephone interview... It is so frustrating. :crying:I know my background might be a little thin, as I've got only 2 courses and had no full-time experience. Is there any chance I can get some interview? Any advice? Just wondering if anybody knows of any Montreal companies that could be looking to fill Entry Level positions. I've completed Exam P and will be writing Exam FM in May. I already have a B.Sc. in Mathematics & Computer Science and I currently work in IT.

Even if you don't know of specific job posting, some names of companies would help. I did a lot of research on what actuaries do, and it looks pretty cool and everything. However, I am still unsure whether I want to go into this field because of job security and money factors. Maybe you could explain these to me:

How many exams does a university graduate need to get into actuarial science work in Canada? I hear that a lot of people get 4 exams, which kind of scares me as far as money goes (e.g. if you get paid by your exams and you start off at entry level with 4 exams, you wouldnt move up by that much after you complete them all).

How easy is it to find a job as an actuary? When I look at D.W. Simpson job listing, there are very few postings in canada. I don't really like what they're offering.

How much money do actuaries really make in Canada? Information about entry level and full membership in SOA/CAS would be nice.

Do I need connections to get into the field?

That would be all, thanks!

is it hard to find a job in the united states?

i was wondering if it is difficult to receive sponsorship from us companies. i am an entry level actuarial student and i need sponsorship. thank you.
