Responsibilities:
·The Actuarial Consultant will assist with all actuarial aspects of setting medical premium rates and medical trend estimates, developing and testing forecasting models and methodologies for assigned Select and Key Accounts markets (51-3000 life groups);
·Anticipate and recognize matters that materially effect financial integrity, working with and providing guidance to the Finance and Underwriting teams to arrive at appropriate solutions;
·Partner with General Managers to ensure understanding of business issues, conducting analyses and providing guidance, as appropriate;
·Perform actuarial analyses and financial projections on existing and new products;
·Comply with rate filing policies and applicable state regulations, laws and standards;
·Support the shared services model in assessing cross-segment market level trend, contracting results, and utilization management changes and share these assessments with the appropriate segment actuaries.
Qualifications
·3+ years of health insurance experience strongly desired.
·Must be proficient in Excel.
·A knowledge of Visual Basic, Microsoft Access and the Data Warehouse a plus.
